Siyeon is a Korean woman who arrives in Los Angeles to study. Lan, a Vietnamese woman, moves to Seoul to attend university in hopes of reuniting with her long-lost sister. Far from everything familiar, starting a new life proves challenging for both women. Though the two women do not ever meet in the film, their shared spirit binds them in the struggle to overcome the loneliness and hardship of being in a new place.
