NORBERT SHIEH (謝明洋) is a Taiwanese-American filmmaker exploring the subtleties of the everyday. Based in Los Angeles, his films and collaborations as a cinematographer have screened internationally in numerous festivals and venues, including Sundance, Rotterdam, Camerimage and the New York Film Festival. Shieh is the recipient of a Creative Capital Film/Video grant for his hybrid documentary PRESERVES, and is a fellow in the Visual Communications's Armed With a Camera program. He holds both a BA in Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego and a MFA in Film/Video from the California Institute of Arts.
